Taste of Soil: Laurelwood Soil Wines with Ruby, Tri Frigeli, and Tuenge Vineyards

Our vineyard has the privilege of being planted in one of Oregon's rarest soils, Laurelwood, which was officially classified in 1974. Vines planted in Laurelwood soil, a loess soil deposited over ancient basalt throughout the last glacial period, tend to produce more savory, elegant, and complex wines. In 2016 we made three wines exclusively showcasing Laurelwood soil, two of which the public has never tasted before. If you enjoy Ruby's Laurelwood Blend Pinot Noir, you're in for a treat with our single vineyard, Laurelwood soil wines, Tre Figli Vineyard Pinot Noir and Tuenge Vineyard Pinot Noir.

All day Saturday and Sunday, March 30th and 31st we will be sampling and selling our three Laurelwood soil wines: 2016 Laurelwood Blend Pinot Noir, 2016 Tre Figli Vineyard Pinot Noir, and2016 Tuenge Vineyard Pinot Noir. Stop in between 12PM - 2PM for a chance to meet the vineyard owners (and neighbors) Dave Musso of Tre Figli and Dick Tuenge of Tuenge Vineyards.

Tre Figli Vineyard Pinot Noir and Tuenge Vineyard Pinot Noir are limited production wines and are normally only available for purchase for wine club members, except for this weekend! We will also be offering special deals on Laurelwood soil three packs in the tasting room and online.

Ruby Mustard Making Class - SOLD OUT

Ever wonder what brand of mustard we use for our charcuterie boards? It's Ruby's very own mustard, and we want to teach you how to make it! Join owner and mustard master Steve in Ruby's kitchen for a private cooking class completed with a take-home mustard making kit and a jar of mustard.  We will hold two sessions, one hour each, open to a limited number of chefs. Price per person includes a mustard making kit, a Ruby mustard jar, and a glass of wine.

Minnesota Monthly Food & Wine Experience

Join us in Minneapolis, Minnesota for the 25th Annual Food & Wine Experience! For two days Target Field will be hosting a unique variety of local, regional and national wines, food from award-winning chefs, and specialty beers and spirits. Valentine's Day Dinner with Trellis Dinner

Join us for a special night of food and wine crafted and curated by Adam Ruplinger and Timothy Nishimoto from Trellis Dinners.  For three nights, Ruby will host a limited number of guests for an extraordinary five-course tasting menu, each dish skillfully paired with a mix of Ruby's Pinots, Chardonnay and dessert wine. Make a romantic country weekend of it, book a B&B, visit other Willamette Valley wineries, and join us for dinner! Arrival time is 7PM, with a welcome glass and hors d'oeuvres, followed by the sit-down dinner at 7:30PM. Price $125. 

Who is Trellis?

Sommelier Timothy Nishimoto and Chef Adam Ruplinger are long-time food and wine partners beginning at Timothy's former restaurant and wine bar, Coppia Wine Bar & Bistro in downtown Portland. When Timothy sold Coppia their bond continued through their mutual passion for pairing wine and food and creating unforgettable experiences for guests.

Trellis Dinners is the child of their passions, which show through each dinner they create. That is why we are so excited to have the opportunity to host Trellis at Ruby for three nights, February 14th - 16th to celebrate Valentine's Day and amazing food and wine. Space at each dinner is limited.
